Interview with VelvetSkye

Today we have VelvetSkye, Pornstar, Cammodel and Sex Therapist. I'm very glad that you made some time to do this interview with us!

Hi Velvet, I'll start with some basics. How old are you and where are you from?     

Are you not supposed to ask a woman (I was going to say lady but that may be a stretch lol)  her age I am 55, from Toronto, Ontario Canada

What do you do and when did you start in the industry? 

I basically spend my days doing live cam shows or sexting naughty photos , having interesting conversations about fantasies and deep dark secrets on the phone and creating interesting custom videos and photos for my OnlyFans... my first movie was in 2008  "My Wife's First MILF. 

How did you come in contact with the porn business?

​I was doing a live cam show for a very popular site and a Canadian Adult Content Producer was watching, they messaged me and the rest is history.

Is working in adult your main job or do you do other things besides it?

​I come from the fashion industry but this is all I have been doing for years, it allows me the freedom to set my own hours and take time off whenever I want. It's fun, I meet new and interesting people. It has taught me a lot about human behavior and how to deal with almost every situation.

Do you tell your friends/family you work in adult? 

Most of my friends and family know now, some due to the fact my movies are shown on some TV networks. There have been newspaper articles both local and online and an interview in Playboy about my visits to Adult Theatres and GloryHoles set up through my good friend Dr. Emilio Lizardo.  Once it's on the web you have to stand tall, with a slight smirk on your face and say proudly "I do porn for a living!"  then watch their reactions. 

How would you describe yourself as an adult talent / porn star?​ 

A fun, hardworking perfectionist - who has a great sense of humour and loves to laugh, sometimes a bit too loudly.

Can you tell us a bit about your first experience?

​I was in awe of how much work went into a production - lighting, microphones, various cameras etc. and being nosy I asked too many questions I am sure. It was so well run, I was at ease and I just knew this was what I was going to be doing for as long as I can.

Does working in the industry interfere with your personal (sex) life? 

I can't honestly say that it doesn't interfere at all, I have met so many wonderful people through the industry that I find my life is richer due to the friendships I have made over the years. It has allowed me some bragging rights haha - you can't get rid of the kid in me!

What's the most appealing thing about your job? 

Well​ isn't it obvious? I get to have sex with some damn fine-looking men! The role playing and bringing perhaps a different perspective to the table.

What do you like least about your job?

​I have no answer for this, I may be just lucky but I have enjoyed every single moment.

If you could do it all over again with all the knowledge you have now, would you still be in the adult industry?​ 

YES!!! but I would start in my 30's with the knowledge I have now, although I am quite enjoying the "cougar, MILF" roles.

What's your view on the industry in general? 

I can really only comment on the various companies I have worked for and I have to say I have been treated with the utmost of respect, however I am a very honest and vocal person and I will let staff know how I feel - I believe the new talent will always have it harder in the beginning until they figure out who they are and just what is acceptable for them. The industry has changed a lot since I started, however it will survive as porn will always be in demand in some form or another.

Do you have a funny story or experience to share?​

While shooting for my TheVshow in a studio - one male talent who was there for a glory hole scene, after sending me countless emails of wanting to be on the show - well he just up and left without a word. I don't believe he expected two camera men and glaring lights. The producer went looking for him. He thought he went to use the restroom, but came back saying he had vanished.  It's never quite as erotic as when you are just a spectator watching it on TV.

What are your plans for the future besides porn?  

That's a really good question, I will let you know once I figure it out.

Any tips for new talent? ​

Don't let anyone tell you "you have to do this" - You have every right to say NO! -  NO means NO -  If you don't enjoy what you are doing it shows on your face.
